With us, the Classic Beckmann satchel in Berlin comes as a 7-piece set. The set includes the satchel itself plus a sports backpack that clips onto it. You also get a filled pencil case, a slip pencil pouch and a rain cover tucked away in the lid compartment. A mini backpack with buttons is part of the set too. The Classic Beckmann satchel has an anatomically shaped back with padding on both the back panel and the shoulder straps. The adjustable shoulder and hip straps shift the weight onto the iliac crest. To keep the journey to school safe, the Classic backpack is fitted with 15 reflectors. The satchel itself has a separate inner compartment for a tablet or laptop, a waterproof inner compartment for a lunch box or water bottle, plus two outer pockets. Wir hatten bei Ranzen-Kontor einen wirklich bezaubernden Termin zur ersten Einschulung unseres ältesten Sohnes. Ein besonderer Moment, den sich die Oma nicht nehmen lassen wollte und die den Schulranzen spendiert hat. Die Beratung war absolut kompetent, sowohl was Qualität und Funktionalität angeht als auch in Sachen Rückengesundheit. Es wurde wirklich alles getestet, wie der Ranzen beim Laufen, Rennen und Springen sitzt und komplett auf unseren Sohn eingestellt. Da er für sein Alter schon relativ groß ist, kamen manche Modelle infrage, andere nicht. Genau das wurde fachlich sauber berücksichtigt. Trotzdem durfte er sich am Ende selbst für sein Wunschmodell entscheiden, samt seiner Lieblingsthematik "Star Wars". Ganz besonders hervorheben möchten wir die Verkäuferin Tina, die uns mit sehr viel Fachwissen und gleichzeitig unfassbarer Herzlichkeit begleitet hat. Unser Sohn konnte seinen Namen stolz an die Tafel schreiben und mit seinem neuen Schulranzen ein Erinnerungsfoto mit Urkunde machen. Dazu gab es noch tolle Extras wie eine Sammelmappe, Patches und Reflektoren für den Schulweg. Es wurde wirklich an alles gedacht. Das ist etwas völlig anderes, als einen Schulranzen anonym online zu bestellen. Hier trifft Fachkompetenz auf Herzlichkeit und Empathie, die einen Schulranzenkauf zu einer unvergesslichen Kindheitserinnerung machen. Dafür von Herzen Danke und viele Grüße von Vincent und Familie.

Am Ende haben wir uns für einen Travelite-Koffer mit drei Jahren Garantie entschieden, der im Angebot war. Sympathischer Besitzer an der Kasse, der den Eindruck erweckt, dass hier jemand sein Geschäft mit Herzblut führt, „wie früher“ halt. Sechs Sterne! :-)

Do you carry Beckmann satchels in Berlin for anything other than primary school?

Is my child safe in the dark with a Beckmann satchel?

Yes. One of the values the Norwegian company Beckmann stands for is road safety. Every one of their satchels comes fitted with several reflectors. Beckmann also offers accessories in its "B-SEEN & SAFE" safety line, all equipped with reflectors — including LED tags, reflective stretch wristbands, reflective vests and satchel rain covers. The vests and waterproof covers come in different colours: blue, pink and yellow.

Do you stock other brands as well?

Can I buy my backpack from you online?

Unfortunately not — we don't currently run an online shop. You're welcome to browse our website to get inspired by the products across our different categories and a first impression of our range. In store, though, we have even more models on offer, along with matching accessories. We'd recommend buying backpacks, suitcases, bags and satchels in store rather than online anyway. In the shop you can try out different models and compare them side by side. On top of that, we can give you personal, expert advice so you find the product that's perfect for you while looking after your back — and you save on any potential shipping costs too.

Do the brands you carry care about sustainability?

Yes, very much so. The brands we offer in our shop and across our categories pay close attention to their ecological footprint, as well as the working conditions under which their products are made. They rely on recycled and chemical-free materials. Many of them partner with aid organisations and support projects that benefit the environment. They also make sure their products are built to last and back them with a meaningful guarantee — so there's no need to sell and throw away new products year after year.

Do we need to book an appointment for a consultation?

That depends on what you have in mind — and when.
