The Essential

Backpack Mini

With its 15-litre capacity, the Backpack Mini is the smallest of the Onemate backpacks. It's the perfect companion for short everyday outings. Inside, there's a laptop compartment that fits a 14-inch laptop. Thanks to the interchangeable Flaps, which you can buy from Onemate in Berlin, your backpack is fully customisable. It also features front, side, phone and bottle compartments, giving you plenty of room for the essentials you need day to day. There's even a sunglasses strap on the shoulder strap. The Onemate Backpack Mini is available in Berlin in four colours: black, green, blue and grey-beige.

The Backpack Pro 2 is Onemate's latest evolution, combining style-conscious elegance with even more functionality. Like its predecessor, it expands from 22 litres to 30 litres and offers a particularly clever way to pack thanks to its side-loading suitcase compartment. New are over 15 additional features, including optimised compartments, improved organisation and RFID protection. The magnetic buckle on the chest strap and the luggage strap for securely mounting it on your wheeled suitcase deliver maximum comfort, whether for everyday use or travel. With lockable zips and hidden compartments, your valuables stay safe at all times. The Backpack Pro 2 also comes in black, blue, green and grey-beige.

The Travel Backpack Ultimate is the backpack that replaces your carry-on suitcase. With its 40-litre capacity, it has just the right dimensions. Like the others, it lets you pack from the side through the suitcase compartment and securely stow a 16-inch laptop in the laptop compartment. With nine new compartments, including a shoe compartment, the Travel Backpack Ultimate is more innovative and holds its shape better than ever. You can keep your valuables safe in the hidden compartments and lock the zips. The extra-padded back panel and ergonomic shoulder straps give you all-round carrying comfort. And when you'd rather not carry it, you can simply slide the Travel Backpack Ultimate onto your suitcase thanks to the luggage strap. This backpack is available in black and beige-grey.

Wir hatten bei Ranzen-Kontor einen wirklich bezaubernden Termin zur ersten Einschulung unseres ältesten Sohnes. Ein besonderer Moment, den sich die Oma nicht nehmen lassen wollte und die den Schulranzen spendiert hat. Die Beratung war absolut kompetent, sowohl was Qualität und Funktionalität angeht als auch in Sachen Rückengesundheit. Es wurde wirklich alles getestet, wie der Ranzen beim Laufen, Rennen und Springen sitzt und komplett auf unseren Sohn eingestellt. Da er für sein Alter schon relativ groß ist, kamen manche Modelle infrage, andere nicht. Genau das wurde fachlich sauber berücksichtigt. Trotzdem durfte er sich am Ende selbst für sein Wunschmodell entscheiden, samt seiner Lieblingsthematik "Star Wars". Ganz besonders hervorheben möchten wir die Verkäuferin Tina, die uns mit sehr viel Fachwissen und gleichzeitig unfassbarer Herzlichkeit begleitet hat. Unser Sohn konnte seinen Namen stolz an die Tafel schreiben und mit seinem neuen Schulranzen ein Erinnerungsfoto mit Urkunde machen. Dazu gab es noch tolle Extras wie eine Sammelmappe, Patches und Reflektoren für den Schulweg. Es wurde wirklich an alles gedacht. Das ist etwas völlig anderes, als einen Schulranzen anonym online zu bestellen. Hier trifft Fachkompetenz auf Herzlichkeit und Empathie, die einen Schulranzenkauf zu einer unvergesslichen Kindheitserinnerung machen. Dafür von Herzen Danke und viele Grüße von Vincent und Familie.

Die Verkäuferin hat uns mit viel Geduld die jeweiligen Vorteile der verschiedenen Kofferalternativen erläutert. Am Ende haben wir uns für einen Travelite-Koffer mit drei Jahren Garantie entschieden, der im Angebot war. Sympathischer Besitzer an der Kasse, der den Eindruck erweckt, dass hier jemand sein Geschäft mit Herzblut führt, „wie früher“ halt. Sechs Sterne! :-)

Are there Onemate backpacks made especially for children?

Onemate doesn't currently make backpacks specifically for children. That said, Onemate's smallest backpack, the Backpack Mini, works well as a children's backpack thanks to its compact dimensions. If you're specifically looking for a children's backpack, come and see us at Bahnhof Friedrichstraße in Berlin. We carry several other brands that offer high-quality backpacks for children.

Does Onemate offer a bundle?

Onemate offers an All-you-need bundle that includes a Backpack Pro and a Travel Backpack Ultimate. Buying them together gets you a discount on both. The Backpack Pro is ideal for everyday use, while the Travel Backpack Ultimate is the perfect companion for trips of several days.

Can I order or reserve a backpack from you?

You're welcome to reserve or order your favourite product from us and pick it up in store, so there are no shipping costs to worry about. Can I buy Onemate accessories in Berlin?

Our range also includes Onemate's Flaps, which you can buy as an accessory for the Backpack Mini. With a Flap, you can change the colour of your Backpack Mini however you like. Each Flap has two integrated loops, so you can easily attach your yoga mat or bike helmet to your backpack.

Which Onemate backpack is right for my trip?

Depending on the kind of trip you're planning and what you need to bring, all three backpacks have you covered. As a rule, though, we'd recommend the Backpack Pro and the Travel Backpack Ultimate for travel. Both open from the side so you can pack them like a suitcase. And thanks to the luggage strap, you can easily slide either one onto your suitcase for easier transport.

Why should I buy my backpack in store?

When you're looking for a new backpack, there are a few things to keep in mind, above all an ergonomic fit. When you visit us in store at Bahnhof Friedrichstraße in Berlin, we can give you tailored advice based on our expertise and find the perfect backpack for you and your body. And unlike shopping online, you can compare backpacks from different brands side by side: see and feel the shape, the texture, the materials, the volume and the colour right in front of you. Bring all your gear along and test for yourself whether everything fits!

Do we need to book an appointment for a consultation?

That depends on what you have in mind, and when.

For a thorough, expert consultation on a first school satchel, we recommend booking an appointment in advance. That way we can take plenty of time to try out several models together and focus entirely on your child, in a calm setting and with no time pressure. Booking appointments lets us keep the consultation relaxed and enjoyable for your child and avoid unpleasant waiting times wherever possible. That's why families with an appointment always take priority with us.

When an appointment is especially important:

  • On all Saturdays
  • From Easter onwards, during peak season

On weekdays in January and February, drop-ins often work fine without an appointment.

For suitcases, adult backpacks, school backpacks from year 4 upwards and nursery backpacks you usually don't need an appointment. We're happy to help you without a reservation there too, though there may be a little wait.

The easiest way to book your appointment is directly through our online calendar. That helps us plan our consultation times well and make sure we can give you our full attention during your visit. We look forward to seeing you!
